Membership

The New Testament often refers to the church as the “body” of Christ. Each part of the human body, or member, must be present and healthy for it to function properly. So it is with the body of Christ - the church.

Church membership is about responsibilities, not privileges, that come along with being a family such as serving, giving, and being invested in the mission of our church.

Here are the steps to becoming a member:

  1. Be baptized by immersion. If you been baptized by immersion after confessing faith in Christ, then you can skip to step 2. If not but you are ready to take this step of publicly professing faith in Jesus then we want to celebrate with you! Apply for baptism.

  2. Complete the APEST assessment. According to Ephesians 4, Jesus himself has given each believer a particular function in his body: Apostolic, Prophetic, Evangelistic, Shepherding, or Teaching. Knowing your gifting will help us know where you best can serve. Complete the APEST assessment.

  3. Apply for a Serve Team. Jesus came to serve, not to be served. Sacrificial service is one of the most powerful ways to love others. It takes a lot to carry on the regular rhythms at Antioch. Like family, we all pitch in. We ask all members to serve on a Sunday Serve Team 1-2x/month. Apply for a Serve Team.

  4. Attend Antioch 101. At Antioch 101 we share the vision, mission, values and beliefs of our church and what it means to be a covenant member.

  5. Membership Interview. If you choose to continue in the membership process after attending Antioch 101, Kevin Naylor, our Pastor of Vision & Teaching, will reach out to schedule a time for a brief interview.

The membership interview is a chance for us to get to know you better, to hear your story in a more personal setting, and to discuss any additional questions you may have prior to covenanting together.

  6. Sign and publicly affirm Membership Covenant. View the Antioch Membership Covenant here.

If you choose to become a Covenant Member, you will be asked to sign the Covenant.

While at Antioch 101 the next New Member Sunday date will be shared. If choosing to become a Covenant Member you will join any new members during the Sunday Gathering to publicly affirm the Membership Covenant.
